Exclusive The VLR is by far the cleanest and safest way to add load to any vehicle lighting system. VLR resistors accomplish the same task as a common gold resistor but are easier to install, have a lower profile, and run 50% cooler (250°F MAX).
Construction Using a wire-wound resistor potted inside a black anodized aluminum heat sink, these are the most weatherproof and thermally safe resistors on the market. VLR resistors use high-temperature silicone wiring attached to a male waterproof circular connector.
Mounting The supplied VLR High Temp mounting tape can be used to adhere the resistor body to a flat, clean metal surface on the vehicle. As an extra precaution, VLR resistors should be mounted out of harm's way and should not touch any plastic or other wiring.

What resistors should I choose?
A standard low beam 55W halogen bulb draws around 4 amps at 14.4V. So, to figure out what resistors you will need, take the current draw of the new LED bulb and add the appropriate resistor to get close to the same draw without going too far over. Most systems are happy with around 4-5 amps draw per side on the circuit.
For hardwiring installations, we highly recommend this for a serviceable connection! Using the DuoTap connector, insert both positive and negative wires and squeeze DuoTaps with pliers. It's that easy!
