Step by Step HID Warranty Return Instructions

Step 1 - Verify that the product is defective (if product is a kit verify which component is defective)

It is sometimes helpful to test the product outside of the vehicle. Wires from a standard 12V battery can be attached to most products to verify operation. If the product is part of a pair and one side is still functioning, switch the suspected defective product to the fully operational side. If the product is part of a kit like a HID kit, switch components one at a time to the operational side to verify which component has failed.

Step 2 - Cut the wires/destroy the connectors on the defective component and take a photo to send via email

We ask that you send in an image using the "NEED HELP" tab on the left side of the screen with the wires on the part cut (or the molded connectors destroyed) and the serial number visible (see below). A new part will be issued generally within 2-3 business days. We will replace dead bulbs alone if the purchase was one year or less from the time of failure. If the bulbs are still under warranty and it has been more than two years, we will replace the pair. In special cases, we won't require you to permanently disable the part before a replacement is sent (ie if a light bulb is mis-colored but still working).

How long is the warranty for Morimoto HID components?

Most Morimoto HID components carry a 3-5 year warranty and in many cases do not require that the product be shipped back to us. Morimoto bulbs carry a 1-2 year warranty. Defective items will be replaced with same item only - no exchanges.

Morimoto 35W kits (when relay harness is purchased) - 5 year warranty
Morimoto 55W kits (when relay harness is purchased) - 3 year warranty
All other individual Morimoto components not bought in a kit (bulbs, ballasts, harnesses, etc.) - 2 year warranty

How do I know which part of the system is defective?

Please troubleshoot by switching components from side to side to isolate the problem. If your light has stopped working; the ballast, bulb, or wire harness may be faulty. Once you are 100% sure which component failed, you will not have to return it to us for a replacement.

How do I get a replacement HID ballast or bulb?

What if my product is NOT defective?

All non-defective returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee. In the event a non-defective product is received we will issue your refund less 15% of the original purchase price. Please see our return and exchange pages for details on returning non-defective products.
